Using Your Personal Trimmer (Basics - Cutters)
-
I can not tell you how surprised I was the first time I was in a class and someone pulled out the ruler along the front edge of the trimmer. WOW! The personal trimmer is marked along this extending ruler, along the base, and along the clear blade carriage arm. The blade is centered inside the clear plastic channel so the edges of the channel can be used for measuring. Also the clear carriage has the same markings along either side of the blade cutting channel. This is the most important tool to the scrapper.

When you want a paper to be slightly smaller than the piece you have already cut lay the piece to be cut on the larger piece. Use light pencil marks to show where the trim should be then lay the light pencil marks even with the cutting channel and trim.

To remove the center from a piece of paper place the cutting blade with the side markers pointing to the ruler position where you want to start your cut before you lower the arm with the blade into the paper. Pull the blade to the mark where you want to end your cut then lift the arm. The blade piece has pointers on either side and grooves where the blade will cut front and back. Line these grooves and pointers up with marking on the paper and/or with previous cuts.
